A study of equine reproduction--selection, breeding, and management practices-in the industry. Topics include anatomy and physiology of the mare and the stallion; detection of the in--heat mare and breeding practices; and management of the pregnant mare, nutritional considerations during pregnancy and lactation, complications of pregnancy and foaling, foaling practices, and management of the foal.
