VRT 103 Instructional Design for Virtual Reality Education
A study of foundational design theory and applications of virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) and mixed reality (MR) experiences with an introduction to VR programming languages. Application emphasis is on navigation and facilitation for users immersed in VR/AR/MR learning experiences, recognizing the symptoms of simulation sickness, and the challenges these aspects present in education. Programming emphasis is on the design of a VR educational application using Unity, Unreal, and Blueprints Visual Scripting.
3 hours lecture and 2 hours of laboratory.
Prerequisite
VRT 102 Foundations of Virtual Reality Literacy, or concurrent enrollment, and
CIS 120 Introduction to Information Systems, or permission of instructor.
