EDU 222 Introduction to Special Education*

This course is a study of special education with emphasis on current educational theories and practices. Attention is given to identifying the characteristics of emotionally handicapped, learning disabled, mentally handicapped, and gifted children. Topics include autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), special education considerations in early childhood and K-12 settings, and accommodations for special education students.
