ENG 379 Professional Writing in the Workplace*

This course is an advanced writing course designed to improve workplace writing competence. By providing an opportunity to analyze and reflect upon the role of communication practices in a range of business settings, this course helps prepare students for the different kinds of writing they will encounter in their professional lives. By focusing on the practice and study of selected types of discourse employed in professional business situations and analyzing and responding to a variety of professional situations, students develop their use of rhetorical strategies and communications technologies appropriate to workplaces.
